On Marriage
A woman might appear to be beautiful,
A visage fair as the full moon, well sculpted in body,
Yet her heart can contain fires and eclipses.
If a man weds her for her beauty,
And cannot see beyond the veil,
He is breeding a serpent.
A diver in the ocean is in search of priceless pearls,
True love is a unique treasure, barter it not for trash.
A woman with beauty and a pure heart,
An angel in utterances and actions,
Is the very peak of virtues,
Loftiest in creation’s hierarchy,
An exhaustless fountain of happiness for her husband,
His thirst forever quenched.
